KAL

We think knitting is even better when we do it together! A KAL, or knit-a-long, is a chance to build community as we all work on the same project.

How do our KALs work?

We announce a KAL through our Millcast, Newsletter, and social media channels. Each has a project and a time period in which to complete the project. We choose great projects for our JFM yarns, but you can participate even if you knit with something else.

How to participate

Acquire your project pattern, yarn, and any additional materials. We usually create special bundles available through our website for our KALs, but you can mix and match your own yarns and get the pattern on Ravelry if you prefer.
Cast on after the announced cast-on date
Join the community: Share your progress on social media with the hashtag #jfmkal, post in our Ravelry group, and tune into our weekly Millcast.
Cast off by the KAL finish date
If you knit your project with JFM yarn, you are eligible to win a prize! Submit your project via the method detailed in the specific KAL page.

We love to see what you make!

Wear your finished project to the next fiber festival. Sometimes, we even have Meetups as we did for the Lindal Tørkle at Rhinebeck 2023.
