Sale price $34.00

200 yards | approx. 50 grams | sport weight

Rich oranges and soft browns with a hint of peach, reminiscent of a pumpkin patch.

Our Making Tracks line of yarn is a variegated blend of fine Merino, Targhee, and Corriedale wool from flocks in Idaho to western South Dakota. Scoured and combed at Chargeurs, it is hand-dyed, pin-drafted, spun, and finished at our mill. This non-superwashed, non-mulesed yarn pairs beautifully with our Roots line of solid yarn, which is made with the same base.

Each skein is unique

There is a lot of variation within each batch of Making Tracks that we have aimed to showcase this in the product photos. If you have a specific idea of what you'd like, leave an order note at checkout. You can also make a

virtual shopping appointment to pick out your specific skein.

Care

Wet-Blocking Care Instructions

Your project isn’t truly complete until it’s had its first wash! Here’s how to help our yarns reach their full potential:

  1. Fill a sink or basin with cold water.
  2. Add a small amount of no-rinse wool wash.
  3. Submerge your knitted item, gently squeezing out any air bubbles to ensure it stays fully underwater.
  4. Soak for up to 10 minutes. While our dyes are tested for colorfastness, some dyes are notoriously difficult to set and may release a small amount of excess color. Using cold water, gentle wool wash, and a short soak will help prevent color redeposit on light-colored fibers.
  5. Drain the water.
  6. Gently lift your knitted item from the water and remove excess moisture by rolling it between clean, dry towels with light pressure.
  7. Lay flat and shape to air dry.

For projects with contrasting colors, we recommend steam blocking to avoid any color transfer.

Looking forward to using my Pumpkin Patch for the Florence sweater. Love the consistency of my skeins!

Making Tracks LITE: Pumpkin Patch

I love the subtle variation in oranges between light and darker orange. I’m excited to see how it works up as my second attempt at the BeauB cardigan by La Maison Rililie.

Making Tracks Lite: Pumpkin Patch

I haven't started the sweater yet, but the yarn looks and feels lovely. It's a bit darker than I expected, but I think it will look great in the colour work with the dark green main colour.

Making Tracks LITE: Pumpkin Patch

I just cast on today! I love Making Tracks light. Pumpkin Patch is slated for the Florence cardi. I can't wait to knit with it and see my finished item.

Making Tracks LITE: Pumpkin Patch

I expected more color variation. The two skeins I have are fairly solid orange. This is not going to allow for the beautiful color changes in the colorwork like I wanted. Other than that I love working with the springy texture of this yarn.

Making Tracks LITE: Pumpkin Patch

I was hoping for more pinks and oranges instead of what looks like a lot of carmels. I’ll wind one of the skeins into a cake and see what I’ve got and if it will work with my project. Stay tuned.

Please don’t make us take these surveys when we purchase your wonderful yarn. When I didn’t complete the survey after the first email, I have received at least three more asking me to complete it. I want to enjoy the yarn and not hesitate to buy it in future with the thought that the annoying surveys will be coming again.
