Inspired by our Roots colorways. Variegated blueberry, forest, paprika, and ochre.
Our Making Tracks line of yarn is a variegated blend of soft wool (mostly Corriedale) from flocks in the American West or South America (more info). Scoured and combed at Chargeurs, it is hand-dyed, pin-drafted, spun, and finished at our mill in Vermont. This non-superwashed, non-mulesed yarn pairs beautifully with our Roots line of solid yarn, which is made with the same base.
Each skein is unique
There is a lot of variation within each batch of Making Tracks and we have aimed to showcase this in the product photos. If you have a specific idea of what you'd like, please leave an order note at checkout.

Care
Wet-Blocking Care Instructions
Your project isn’t truly complete until it’s had its first wash! Here’s how to help our yarns reach their full potential:
Fill a sink or basin with cold water.
Add a small amount of no-rinse wool wash.
Submerge your knitted item, gently squeezing out any air bubbles to ensure it stays fully underwater.
Soak for up to 10 minutes. While our dyes are tested for colorfastness, some dyes are notoriously difficult to set and may release a small amount of excess color.Using cold water, gentle wool wash, and a short soak will help prevent color redeposit on light-colored fibers.
Drain the water.
Gently lift your knitted item from the water and remove excess moisture by rolling it between clean, dry towels with light pressure.
Lay flat and shape to air dry.
For projects with contrasting colors, we recommend steam blocking to avoid any color transfer.

This is my second pair of mittens knitted with your beautiful yarn. Smugglers Notch is a favorite place of mine so loved this yarn even more!❤️. The pattern is Bella’s Mittens by Marielle Henault found on Ravelry. Beautiful pattern with wonderful yarn equals fabulous results! Jane Bates
I fell in love instantly with the colorway & was online 3 min after availability the Tuesday after the VT Fiber Fest. This order took the scenic route via USPS on the East coast then Indy to Aurora & Denver, CO back to Indy & finally it's Michigan destination.
Whatever I knit better be just as memorable!
Hi,
I am a repeat customer that just loves the colorful, high quality yarn and likes to
Create things! This is perfect for some fall knits and I can’t wait to start!
Thank you for fast and clean shipping!!
I fell in love with this color way the moment I saw it! The plan was for another Making Tracks Tolsta Tee, but the Fall and winter are long, and this yarn might be snatched up for another color work sweater.
The colorway is darker than I expected but I realize that reality is different than photos of colorways. The yarn is very soft and I'm looking forward to using it.
I love your yarns - all of them.
I look forward to including Smugglers Notch into a project this winter. Now I have to decide which pattern to employ. Lucky me!
