Our Roots yarn is made with a blend of fine Merino, Targhee, and Corriedale wool from flocks in Idaho to western South Dakota. Scoured and combed at Chargeurs, it is hand-dyed, pin-drafted, spun, and finished at our mill. This non-superwashed, non-mulesed yarn pairs beautifully with our Making Tracks line of variegated yarn, which is made with the same base.
Made in small batches at Junction Fiber Mill in White River Junction, Vermont
Care
Wet-Blocking Care Instructions
Your project isn’t truly complete until it’s had its first wash! Here’s how to help our yarns reach their full potential:
Fill a sink or basin with cold water.
Add a small amount of no-rinse wool wash.
Submerge your knitted item, gently squeezing out any air bubbles to ensure it stays fully underwater.
Soak for up to 10 minutes. While our dyes are tested for colorfastness, some dyes are notoriously difficult to set and may release a small amount of excess color.Using cold water, gentle wool wash, and a short soak will help prevent color redeposit on light-colored fibers.
Drain the water.
Gently lift your knitted item from the water and remove excess moisture by rolling it between clean, dry towels with light pressure.
Lay flat and shape to air dry.
For projects with contrasting colors, we recommend steam blocking to avoid any color transfer.

Love the soft color of the lilac with the hydrangea and a dark color
It will be a pleasure to knit up a cowl or head for winter!
Love the DK as it has such great stitch definition!
Thank you 🙏
I like this happy pink so much that I’m ordering 3 more before it’s gone - Sunny and warm but definitely not neon. Perfect for summer or a trip to the islands. A shawl for chilly nights would be perfect.
This yarn is so soft and easy to work with. It is such a gorgeous shade of grey and feels so good in your hands! I’m holding it with a fluffy lace weight yarn and it’s making the most amazing fabric. It was also super easy to wind. The shipping was so fast, too! I love everything I’ve gotten from Junction Fiber Mill!
I purchased this for a test knit and it was my first time working with Roots Lite and Junction Fiber Mill. I am sucker for sport weight and this green is one of my favorite greens !! I love the way it works up and cables look really great ! I will be buying more in the future .
I made the Florence hat twice! First one was too small! Sized up on needles and made again. Much better! Now I might have enough leftover to make the felted mitts.
Perfect combination to the neutral!
I just love all their yarn! Honestly you can’t go wrong picking your personal favorites or try a new color! The stitch definition is so awsome that every stitch is a joy!
The colors make my brain light up!
Perfect and always soft project results!
😊 thank you!
